Alvin Fan is the Chief Executive Officer of OP Investment Management Limited (OPIM), responsible for the company’s overall strategy. He has over 20 years experience in finance and strategy - spanning across managerial, private equity, and fund of funds. Alvin was previously Director of Incubated Funds and Head of Investor Relations at OP Financial Investments Ltd, a Hong Kong-listed Investment Company, where he was responsible for monitoring the company’s portfolio of public equity investments. Prior to joining OP, Alvin was previously working in private equity focused on distressed assets and property. Alvin received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario) in 2006.

Benjamin Wong

Benjamin is the CIO at Rockpool Capital. At Rockpool, Benjamin is responsible for advising the Multi-Family Office team, clients, and prospects on investment suitability, solution ideas, portfolio allocations, and rebalancing.  Benjamin has over 13 years of experience in Investment Management and Global Equity Trading. Prior to Rockpool, he was the Asia Head of J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s HNW team, where he was responsible for providing investment advice for assets in excess of US$3 billion. He joined J.P. Morgan Investment Bank in 2005, where he focused on global macro strategies and equity long-short trading, managing over US$1.5 billion in assets on the Asia principal strategy desk.  Benjamin graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce.

Douglas Wong is the Head of Property & Casualty at the Chubb Insurance Hong Kong Limited which is a lead insurer in the Hong Kong general insurance market. He oversees an insurance portfolio that consists of property, casualty, marine and financial lines products and has gross written premium more than US$170m. Prior to that, Douglas served as the Head of Financial Lines at Chubb Hong Kong, and previously, at its strategic partner Huatai Insurance in the mainland China. In his Head of Financial Lines role, Douglas and his team offered tailored made insurance solutions to executives, investment managers and other professionals in the Greater China region. Douglas holds an MBA degree and is a CFA Charterholder. 

Marc Parrott

Marc Parrott is a Partner in the Corporate Department of Appleby’s Hong Kong office. He maintains a diverse funds practice that includes structuring, formation and advising on the ongoing operation of offshore investment funds in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and British Virgin Islands, including liquid asset funds (such as hedge funds, credit funds and crypto funds), private equity (including LBO, growth, and real estate), private debt (including mezzanine and distressed) and venture capital funds. He also regularly assists with the establishment of offshore investment management businesses in these jurisdictions. His clients include international and Asian financial institutions, listed and private asset management companies, and leading onshore law firms. He also advises institutional, fund of funds, and high-net worth individual investors in relation to making investments into Cayman Islands, Bermuda and British Virgin Islands fund structures, together with seed-capital investments in fund managers and acquisitions of interests in investment management businesses. Marc has over 25 years of offshore and onshore experience, including having lived and practised in the Cayman Islands for approximately 8 years prior to relocating to Hong Kong in 2014. Prior to moving offshore, Marc obtained top-tier international transactional experience having practised in Australia with Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills), and in London with Linklaters.

Michael Pang

Michael Pang holds the position of Head of North Asia Alternative Investments at Bolder Group, where he assumes responsibility for driving business and growth strategy in North Asia, particularly in Greater China. Pang's professional background spans over 17 years in the financial industry, during which he acquired significant leadership, origination, and commercial management experiences from global companies operating in the asset management, capital markets, and M&A sectors. Prior to joining Bolder, he served as a Director Of Funds at a market-leading fund services firm, and previously held senior leadership roles at Donnelley Financial Solution (NYSE:DFIN) and Merrill Corp. Pang's expertise includes working with multinational and Chinese GP, investment managers, and family offices, providing end-to-end fund solutions for investment funds such as hedge funds, private equity/venture capital, private debt funds, and other alternative investment funds. Additionally, Pang is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.

Ortwin Gierhake

Ortwin Gierhake is a Director with the TD Cowen Prime Services team based in HK where he is in charge of sales and business development. Ortwin helped to set-up the office in August 2018 and is one of the two onshore RO’s for the business. With his broad and long experience in Asian financial markets Ortwin is well positioned to advise clients on the various aspects of setting up and running their hedge fund operations. In his previous company Ortwin established a middle market sales team focusing on boutique managers covering them across asset classes. Ortwin has worked and lived in Asia for 20 years. He has been based in Tokyo, Frankfurt and for now 10yrs in Hong Kong. Prior to joining TD Cowen Ortwin worked for WestLB, Goldman Sachs and Nomura. Ortwin holds an MBA from Waseda University in Japan.

Simon Yip

Simon Yip, CFA, FRM is a Team Lead of Institutional Treasury Management at DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited and he joined us in Sep 2017.  Mr Yip is responsible for client relationship management focusing on the fund industry. His team provides wide range of corporate banking products and services to asset managers and funds including private equites and hedge funds, mostly from Asia especially Greater China.  He has over 12 years of extensive experience in the banking industry. Mr Yip worked in different international banks prior to joining DBS.  Simon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is a CFA chartered holder and certified FRM.    

Vanessa Chan

Vanessa is a Hong Kong based tax professional with a primary focus on Financial Services industry. She has over 20 years of tax experience and has deep knowledge about the financial service industry in Hong Kong, focusing on International tax and Hong Kong tax. She has extensive in-house tax experience and expertise in regional tax management. Vanessa has deep knowledge and extensive experience in investment fund formation and structuring, advising on carried interest structures, advising on the underlying holding structures and related tax implications of making investments in various jurisdictions and conducting tax due diligence review. In addition, she has been heavily involved in various tax policy initiatives relating to asset management and fund industry, utilising her extensive in-house practical experience and her deep technical knowledge in the financial service industry. Vanessa has been leading the tax policy changes in Hong Kong on the private fund sector.  Vanessa has extensive experience in serving all types of investment management clients, including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, funds of funds and sovereign wealth funds. Vanessa is an Associate of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Winnie Hon

Winnie Hon serves as an Independent Director at Waystone and is based in Hong Kong. Winnie oversees fund governance and all regulatory and compliance requirements for Asia-based open-ended and closed-ended funds across a wide variety of structures and strategies. Winnie has over 20 years of financial services experience in the alternative investment industry, gained through her previous roles working in jurisdictions that included, Hong Kong, Singapore and North America. Prior to joining Waystone, Winnie spent over 16 years with Citco Fund Services, where, as Vice President, she was responsible for a portfolio of hedge fund and private equity clients. Earlier in her career, Winnie held senior roles at State Street where she worked in Fund Accounting and also Custodian Services with a focus on mutual funds. Winnie is a Registered Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.  Winnie is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Yushi Lin

Yushi is a Relationship Manager for Hedge Funds, Family Offices and Private Equity for Bloomberg in Hong Kong, serving clients with regional and global presence. For the 6 years she has been with Bloomberg, she works closely with her clients grow their business with the state of art technology that Bloomberg offers across all trade life-cycles. She is also dedicated to building an effective community connecting fund managers and allocators. Prior to Bloomberg, Yushi was with Omgeo in Singapore, now DTCC. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Finance from Singapore Management University.
